To remember the brave US Soldiers in 1942 that were were marched for days in the scorching heat through the Philippine jungles.
Since its inception, the memorial march has grown from about 100 to some 6,500 marchers from across the United States and several foreign countries. While still primarily a military event, many civilians choose to take the challenge.
Rob, Stephen and I did the light civilian 13 mile course at theĀ Bataan Memorial Death March one morning after camping out the night before at White Sands Missile Range.
Check out some of the pictures.
